Hamburg Airport (Hamborg Lufthavn)

Airport Code: HAM

Hamburg Airport (Hamborg Lufthavn) is a large airport which lies in northern Germany. The airport is 9 km north of Hamburg, Germany (Hamborg, Tyskland), and it is approximately 150 km away from the Danish border.

The airport's proximity to Denmark makes this airport a common choice by travellers to Denmark. Not only is it close to the border, it's flights and car rentals are generally cheaper than flying into Copenhagen's Airport, Kastrup (Københavns Lufthavn, Kastrup). Also, depending on your final destination within Denmark it may be closer to fly to Hamburg rather that Copenhagen (København). For travellers who will be renting a car this is also a way to avoid the very costly charge of using the Storebelt Bridge (Storebælt Bro), this is the bridge which lies between the island of Zealand (Sjælland) and Fyn (Fyn).

The airport is modern with many shops and restaurant to choose from. Also, there are numurous cash machines. There is plenty of long stay and short stay parking.
